My FIRST Mother's Day

I can't believe there is really a day to celebrate me doing a job I've wished for all my life! I used to dream about my future children and those dreams don't even come close to what they are really like. They are my world and more than I could have ever hoped for. I love every single thing about my two gorgeous girls and there is absolutely nothing they could ever do that would change that fact! I am so blessed to be their Mommy and I try my very hardest to do what is best for them every day.

My fabulous husband let me sleep in today. This was the first time I've done this since the girls were born. I fed them (in bed) and then he took them out of the room and let me sleep until 10:30!!!!!!!!! It was wonderful! He dressed the girls and even thought to put them in an outfit that says "Mommy's Sweetie" on it. It's all about the details, people! While I was sleeping, he came in only once to give me a bunch of kisses and tell me that he was taking the girls because he had a surprise for me. He also said that whenever I wanted to get up I should watch some of my shows on the DVR. Really? Sleep in and then watch whatever I want on TV?????? Man, I snagged a good one! He had a little photo shoot with the girls, because he needed pictures for his gift. Like always the girls don't sit still so the pictures are cute but not what he wanted. I love their expressions in this first one. When I got out of bed, I did just what he said. I laid on the couch and watched some of my shows. When he got home he gave me my surprises. I got 2 dozen pink and yellow roses, 3 cards (one from him and one from each of my girls), and an adorable framed poem with the girls' pictures and hand prints on it. He also paid for my bracelet with the girls' names on it that I ordered a few weeks ago. At 3:00 we headed out to Bar Louie, where we met up with my parents and my brothers. Wes' mom and step-dad were supposed to join us, but very sadly their beloved dog, Albert, had to be put to sleep today. It was horribly sad for them and they decided not to make the trip up. We totally understood and plan to stop and visit them next weekend when we are home for a wedding. Our lunch was delicious, as it always is there! We love that place. It was nice to celebrate with my amazing mom, as well. I can count on her for anything and everything. She is the most dedicated mother and Nana in the world. I sure hope that my girls can say the same thing about me one day. I am so blessed!

Skees/Rethman GirlsStella, Mommy and MyaFoods all gone.....guess I'll taste the table.Eating is exhausting.
After lunch we stopped at Target to pick up a few things we needed, including some more puffs for the girls. They LOVE those things. When we got home Mya was all over the containers. Wes took them from her and put them on his shoulders hoping she would crawl over and give him some kisses. She cried and had the most horrible sad face, until she took them back. LOL We played until bedtime. It was a perfect day!

Silly Daddy.....copying Stella's tongue waggle.
Mya's beloved puffs.
They're all mine.....back off! (This picture doesn't look like her for some reason.)

Let me just inspect these.....ok, everything seems to be in order.
