A Wedding and a Reunion

This weekend Wes' cousin, Courtney, got married to her fiance, Dave. We headed down to Loramie Saturday morning for the big day. We took the girls over to his dad's house and they napped during the ceremony because there was no way I was taking them to a Catholic service....they would never have sat quietly that long. It was a beautiful wedding but I didn't take any pictures because my big "mom" camera didn't fit in my wristlet :). After the wedding we headed back to get the girls ready and brought them back to the church so that we could take a whole family picture. Shockingly, I think that both girls were looking at the camera the whole time....smiling was too much to ask but I'm happy with just looking. LOL Following the picture we headed over to the hall which is just across the parking lot. The girls loved running around the big room and eating cheese and crackers. They especially enjoyed the ledge right below the bar and spent a lot of time crawling on it. I called them little bar rats. :) By the time the wedding party arrived a few hours later I was sooooo ready to take the girls home. We stayed through dinner and then we took them back to his dad's house (this was a cousin on his mom's side) and we put them to bed. Juggling both of our very active girls is a huge job these days and so we didn't get many pictures at all. In fact, we didn't get any of our little family. Oh well, what can you do. Wes and I went back up to the reception after putting the girls to bed and we had a great evening. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Paul!

Sunday, we spent the first part of the day playing with Grandma and Grandpa Rethman and Aunt Kayla and Aunt Mo. Sunday afternoon we went to the Rethman reunion to meet Great Grandpa Rethman's siblings and their families. Sadly, the day didn't go very well. The reunion started at 2:00 and due to slightly late morning naps, Stella only got a short cat nap in the afternoon and Mya didn't get one at all. This is not good, especially when you pair it up with a hot and steamy afternoon outside where they just didn't want to be held. We let them run in the grass and play in the awesome park but they wanted to be put down when we were near the shelter house and that was surrounded by gravel. It just was not much fun because the girls were fussy and hot. The few pics I took were of them swinging, which they LOVED. I can't wait to get them a swing set next year! Anyways, we headed home around 5:30 and stopped for supper (at Skyline, of course!!!!) and ended up back at home around 8:15ish. We had to give them a quick bath and get them in bed right away. I love being with family, but I really hate the stress of not being at our own house with two babies.

OMG I simply MUST have those shoes!! (I mean, Emmy must have them.) Those shoes with the dresses might be my favorite outfits I've seen your girls in...and that's sayin' something considering all the cute outfits they've worn. :)

I feel your pain. We chased Logan around at the All Saints Festival ALL weekend. We were exhausted and we only have one! I give you a lot of credit - you're great parents!
