Twin Talk Vol. 10

Another week has gone by and it was FULL of interesting conversation with my little talkers!

1. The girls love to color and they can say "color" but when they tell me what they were doing it comes out "cuh-luh-ling". We emptied the old guest bedroom in hopes that we will be making it a nursery at some point but for now it just has the glider and their little table and chairs set my parents got them for their birthday. This is where they color and they refer to it as the "cuh-luh-ling room".

2. The girls now play with Milo and will throw his toy for him. Anyone who knows our dog knows that he has an insane amount of energy and once you start throwing the toy he won't stop coming back. Mya threw it a few times but then was distracted by a toy and so when he returned she told him "Not right now, Buddy. I'm too busy." Uh, I think she may have heard us saying that to him a few too many times. Poor guy!

3. One of the Dora episodes has a character named Pablo - but the girls call him Plah-bo! LOL

4. We have been telling them that they are not allowed to tell us no when we ask them to do something. In previous posts you've heard me talk about how obsessed Mya is with what she can do when she is big. One night when I was cuddling with them she says "When we be big we can say no? But we are too little now. But we can say yes now. But we are not allowed to say no now. When we be big we can say no and sit on the stools and eat? Yeah, that will be fun!" Not sure why she added that last part but that is something else she isn't allowed to do now. Funny girl.

5. The night I came home from the funeral home seeing my friend's premature baby I was very sad and needed some cuddle time with my girls. Thankfully they were still up so I went in to snuggle. I had tears in my eyes and Stella says "You're sad, Mommy?" I said yes. She said "I'm sorry you're sad, Mommy but I make you super happy!" You sure do, sweet girl!

6. I asked the girls why they had different clothes on when I picked them up at Lisa's house. Mya says "We peed on our shorts!" Stella pipes up "Actually, we peed in our pull-ups!" Actually???????? She did it again last night when I asked her to take her hat off at dinner. It was a new one that just arrived and I told her I didn't want her to get noodles on her hat. She tells me "Actually, Mommy, it's mac 'n cheese!"

7. Mya was pushing Stella around the living room on her "trice-guh-gull" and then decided she was just done. She told her "I can't push you on your bike anymore, Darlin'."

8. It was insanely hot this week at school. In fact, my classroom thermometer said that my room was 90 degrees. I have one wall mounted fan and it does nothing. Needless to say, I was a hot mess! I picked up the girls and we headed straight to my parents' house to swim in their pool. We got our suits on and Stella walked to the door that goes outside. She reached for the handle and then stopped and said to me "You're the boss, Mommy. You get to open the door!"

9. Same day - we were munching on pretzels and I was dipping them in garlic lovers hummus. Stella LOVED the hummus, Mya not so much. I was asking Stella to tell Nana what she likes to eat on her pretzels and she told her. When I asked Mya she said "I just eat regular pretzels."

10. I was wearing sleeveless jammies and had my arms above my head and Mya was inspecting my armpits. She asks "Is this your pit, Mommy?" I said yes and asked her where her pits are. She pointed to them and said "When I be big I can put odorant on my pits!" Daddy asked her if she was sure she didn't want deodorant instead cause no one wants stinky pits! :)

11. Another bathroom story – Mya came in as I was getting dressed again and she tells me “Mommy, I don't want to eat your boobies.” I said that's good because she's a big girl and only babies do that. She says “When I be Mommy and Daddy I can eat boobies?” I said no when she is a Mommy she can let her babies eat her boobies (by the way I hate that she calls it that, but whatever and it is kind of funny). She looked so disgusted and said “No way! That's silly, Mommy!”

12. Stella LOVES to dance and sing the Taylor Swift song "Mean". She knows the part "Someday, I'll be livin' in a big 'ole city" and when she says "Mean". The rest is just mumbling because I don't think she knows the words. But man can that girl cut a rug! She is a dancin' machine!

13. This was a facebook status but I still like to record it on here so I don't forget. I was getting the girls ready for bed and Mya tells me "I tell Lisa, Mommy and Daddy love and kiss in bed". I said What!?!?!?!?! She clarifies by saying "Mommy and Daddy love to kiss me in bed and then I take a nap".

14. Any time Mya asks if we can go do something and I say no she always says "Oh later we can......" I say yes and explain why it won't work right now. Lately, though Stella chimes in with "No, Mya on another day we can ......."

15. Shopping at Babies 'R Us for my friend's baby shower coming up Mya was asking about all of the different baby items and that she wanted them. I told her what they were but then said they were for babies. She said "Oh when I be a baby I can have them". Hmmmmmm this is a change from the "when I be big...." convos we've been having. I explained that she already was a baby and that she won't be one again but that confused her. LOL

16. Whenever we are leaving the house Stella always asks "Where we are going?" instead of "Where are we going?". Cracks me up!

LOL they need their own toddler talk show or something. Like "The View," only for the wee-ones. They could have special guests like Dora, Plah-bo, Milo, etc.

Favorites are 5, 8 and 11. :)
