Our Last Parent Helper Day

May 7th was our last parent helper day of the school year.  Wes and I both took the morning off to go with them because we were celebrating their birthday this day.  We were supposed to do their half birthday in December but Mya got sick so we postponed the celebration until May when it was just a month from their actual birthday.

 It was super sunny in the room so these are washed out but Stella makes me laugh!

 Time to do the special helper duties! First comes the calendar!

 And for the extra special birthday routines they were sung to by the whole class with a super cute birthday song.  Not just the usual one!

 Mya was so serious so Nana was trying to get her to smile!

 Throughout the song the kids put their hands in a circle to "make a cake" and bring it up to the birthday child to blow out the candles.

 And then they got to share their special posters all about them that we had made back in December.

 Snack time! And I'm not ashamed to admit that I bought M&M cookies instead of making them because let's face it I'm not the best cook and it was the end of my school year which means I was in crazy, busy mode.  The kids were silent and every single kid ate the whole thing and had several cups of milk so I'd say it was a success.
