Thanksgiving 2011

Every year for Thanksgiving we basically have the same schedule. My family goes to Maumee Bay State Park on the Wednesday and Thursday of Thanksgiving week. We are only able to stay Wednesday night and then we always head down to Fort Loramie on Thanksgiving day. We do the Bergman gathering for lunch and the Rethman gathering for dinner. Black Friday used to be spent shopping but lately we've just stayed at my father-in-laws house and shopped on the computer and also visit with some friends. Then on Saturday we go over to Grandma and Grandpa Theis's house for our last get-together before heading home.

Here is our super cute card that the girls made at Lisa's house for us! I just love that she takes the time to do crafts with them. It has to be overwhelming with that many little ones but they are always bringing home projects and gifts for us!My mom's side of our family has gone to Maumee Bay since I was in 7th grade. We have our big feast Wednesday night and then play games and chat all night. There is a kids play area and an indoor pool. We opted out of swimming but the kids did a lot of playing and running around before bed. Britt and Troy got to share a room with us. I think that Grandma was trying to get them used to life with little ones! They are due in February! They got to share with us last year too. Lucky them! I've said it a million times but they are so awesome with the girls! They got up when the girls did and had them up on their bed letting them climb all over them. I absolutely cannot wait to meet their sweet little lady and see them as parents!

The camera didn't make it out too much this weekend so I don't have any pictures of the Bergman Thanksgiving. They all went to lunch at the American Legion but we just joined them for dessert at my mother-in-law's house afterward so the girls could get their nap in. YaYa and YoYo had just picked up their new little puppy, Ellie, that day. She is a 6 week old Morkie and she is adorable!

After leaving Celina, we headed over to Fort Loramie for the Rethman gathering. The girls ate a ton and loved playing with their cousins. Mya and Stella are the first great-grandchildren on that side. Wes's cousin Jack and his wife have a little boy named Austin, who is 1 1/2 and they are due with #2 in January. His cousin Brittany has a little boy named Gavin, who was born on July 1st.
Friday we shopped on the computer most of the day. That evening we went to see the progress on our good friends, Ryan and Julie's new house that they are building. They should be moving in sometime in May. They have a little boy named Kendall, who is 2 months older than the girls and then they just had their second little boy named Mason in October. Ever since the girls were born we have joked that Kendall and Mya are boyfriend and girlfriend. She snuggled up to him when took their picture when the girls were 3 weeks old. I've already decided on arranged marriages for them - Mya will marry Kendall and Stella is going to marry Jax Garman. It's happening, that's all there is to it! LOL

Saturday we went to Thanksgiving with the Theis side. This is Nancy's family and it was so strange to go through holidays without her there. Wes, Kayla, the girls and I stopped at Nancy's grave on the way there. This is the first time we've went and she has recently gotten her stone. It is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. We miss her all the time. :( I didn't take any pictures this day. We headed home around 5:00 and stopped at Skyline for dinner! Perfect end to a busy but wonderful few days! I am so thankful to have such a wonderful family and in-law family. These people mean the world to me and I absolutely love spending time with all of them!
