Our Little Beauties are 2 Years, 9 Months Old!

Mya and Stella have only 3 short months until they turn 3! That's just stinkin' insane! We love them more every day as their vibrant personalities are becoming more and more developed. So what's up with them?
Mya Alyse ~
She's a SASSY, stubborn stinker and while it can be very frustrating it also makes me just want to kiss and squeeze her even more! She has the most kissable cheeks and her deep little voice just melts my heart. I sometimes think she has an accent from somewhere else the way she pronounces things. She is always more shy in a new situation but once she warms up she is fine. When she wants to be sweet and snuggly I drop everything because it doesn't happen as much as I'd like. She's very smart and doesn't miss a thing. She can name all of her basic shapes, colors, letters and their sounds, count to 20, say our before dinner prayer completely by herself, brush her own teeth, wash her hands and dress herself except for those tricky jeans! She is our better sleeper and always has been. She would be even better if her "little" sister would quiet down and leave her alone! :) We are really struggling with nap time because if she isn't talking up a storm she is causing havoc in her room (emptying drawers, closets, stripping down, etc.) We went through a rough patch with eating a while ago but currently (knock on wood) they don't refuse much of anything. Mya is very much like her Daddy in her eating habits, though. She likes things to be plain, no sauces or dips of any sort. She loves pretzels and fruit of all sorts. She really enjoys yogurt, cheese and bell peppers. They still only drink milk and water, although sometimes we put Mio in their water and they call it juice. She likes to play with her play kitchen and food, read books, ride her tricycle and she LOVES to color.
Stella Grace~
My sweet little Stella! She is a snuggler and a lover. She tends to be more attached to me but is quick to ask for Daddy if I correct her or tell her no. She is usually the first to share with Mya, although she can hold her own when Mya pushes her around. She is less afraid in new situations, which is definitely opposite of what I would have thought when they were really little. This picture was from my phone but this is so Stella right now. She LOVES to dress up and does so almost every day. She is very girly and loves the heels, tutus, tiaras and boas. She also loves to do puzzles, read books and dance! Dora is still number one in this house and we are fine with that. They really do learn so much. We started gymnastics and she loves it. She has been able to do a somersault for a while now. She is a more adventurous eater and likes her foods to have sauces and flavors. She even liked my extra garlic hummus I made the other day. She also really likes salsa. She loves fruit just like her sister. They would eat their weight in fruit every day if we let them! Stella is not a bad sleeper, but is always the first one awake. She randomly wakes up in the middle of the night sometimes, especially when she's sick. It's not often but we always worry it is going to turn into one of her night terrors. It's been awhile since she's had one but man are they a doozy. They usually last about 20-30 minutes and she is completely unable to reason. Her eyes are wide open but she looks right through us. It is scary and frustrating because we are usually really tired. Stellie can do all of the things that I listed for Mya, but she is also much further along with potty training. Mya isn't interested really but Stella does a good job. When she is at home she very rarely has an accident in her pull up or diaper while she is awake. She tells us she needs to go and can actually handle number one bathroom trips completely by herself. We are sooooooo over potty training and really wish it could be wrapped up by their birthday, if not sooner.

We just love these girls more than anything and feel so blessed that we are their parents. They bring us more joy than we ever could have imagined! Looking forward to celebrating their birthday in just a few months!

NO! They cannot be nearing the 3-year mark!! Doesn't it feel like yesterday when I brought E & J over to meet your girls?!?! They were like one month old, and Mya and Stella were four months! Ahhh, memories. :)
