December 2013

December is always packed with tons of things to do for the holidays and this year was no different.  We started with our first family Christmas party with the Bergman side of our family.  Our family continues to grow and there were two new babies added in 2013, and two more that came in the first two months of 2014.  We always attempt a great-grandchild picture with G.G. and G-Pa and this year was the best one yet!

We attended a memorial service for one of my best friend's dad.  Very sadly he passed away from ALS earlier in the year but they waited to have the service until Lindsey and Curt could get back from Okinawa after the birth of their newest addition, Marcus.  Even though it was a sad reason to get together it was so very nice to see them and celebrate her amazing dad.

Throughout the year there are several theme days at our dance class.  This month was pajama day.  Here we are with our buddy, Emmy, at class!

Our special helper day at preschool where we were supposed to celebrate the girls' half-birthday was cancelled due to bad weather.  We made the best of our day by playing in the snow, shopping, lunch at Jimmy John's and seeing Frozen.  Even though we were bummed about class being cancelled we still had fun!

This winter was insane and it started in December.  We had so much fun playing in the snow.

Christmas is going to be it's own post so I'm going to skip that for the moment and move on to the rest of December.  We hosted the second annual pajama movie night at our house with the Garmans and Riedemans.  We had wanted to do it before Christmas to watch a holiday movie but schedules didn't match up so we moved it after all of the hustle.  We watched Turbo, ate and played with our friends.  So much fun again!

For Christmas we had gotten our niece, Sophie, a Build-A-Bear Workshop gift card and we really wanted to take her to make her own animal.  The girls love theirs so much and we just knew she would to.  She chose a cat and we had a great day with her.  After her cat was done we went to Panera for a yummy lunch!

At the girls' preschool there is a special treat that each child gets twice a year.  That is to take Clifford home for a few days.  They are supposed to document what he does and record it in the little ongoing journal that each student adds to.  This was one of our turns with Clifford.
