Happy New Year!

What an amazing year 2009 has been. I can definitely say it has been the best year of my life. I knew I would love being a mother, but I could never imagine just how much. The year began with me waiting to find out the sexes of our sweet little miracles. January 18th we found out that they were two beautiful little girls! We spent the rest of the pregnancy preparing for their arrival. June 2nd was a surreal day! The two most beautiful little ladies were born and made our life absolutely perfect! Since then I have loved EVERY SINGLE MINUTE of being their mommy and watching Wes become the outstanding daddy that I knew he would be. I cannot believe that they are going to be 7 months old already. Life sure does fly by so I make it a point to appreciate the blessings that I have every day.

I wanted to do something low key to celebrate New Years Eve because Stella is just getting over her ear infections and plus I wanted to spend this holiday with my little ladies. They go to bed at 7:30 so we weren't going to be doing much. My sister was feeling the same way and she had the day off so we decided to celebrate the new year with the kids at noon. We went over to her house and had a nice lunch complete with our new years attire. We tried to take some cute pics of the kiddos but like always it was impossible to get a good picture with 4 very active little ones. We had a great time and then Wes and I came home to be with our girls alone.

After they went to bed I got to work on stocking my freezer with homemade baby food. Once I start work on Monday I'm pretty sure free time is going to be very limited. I made carrots, acorn and butternut squash and some rice cereal. Tomorrow I am going to make some ground turkey and some sweet potatoes. The girls are doing a great job with solids and I am really enjoying making their food.

My hope for 2010 is that I can find some enjoyment in my job (although at this point I'm really not sure about going back to work), that I can continue to produce enough milk to breastfeed my babies until they are at least 1, that I can be the best mommy to my little ladies, that we can move into a newer and bigger house and that we can maybe even add to our little family. We'll see what the new year has in store for us soon enough! Happy New Year everyone!
