Remember their BLAH old room? Well, not anymore! I am in love with how it turned out and so are the girls! They always tell me "Mommy, I love you painting!". I had painted the room back in April. I painted a small night stand pink and green to match the bedding and then I put the decals on the wall above their headboards. On Saturday we went to Mattress Firm to order their mattresses. We had purchased 2 Groupons back in March that were $50 for $200 off any mattress set. It was a great deal for us and then the salesman was so awesome that he gave us an additional $200 off each set! The girls loved running around that store and jumping on all the beds.
Last Thursday we put the girls down for a nap in pack 'n plays in our bedroom and went to town taking their beds apart. I have to be honest. I teared up while doing this. I have realized for a while that they are kids and not babies anymore, but taking apart their cribs was tough! We got the job done pretty quick and I started to freak out because the room looked so crowded! Two full beds in one room is a lot, no matter how big the room is.

The next day their mattresses were delivered. We had gotten low profile box springs but the pillow top mattresses were so tall that with both stacked on top of each other the mattress almost came to the top of the headboard!!!! The beds have 7 slats connecting the two rails so we decided that that was enough support for the mattresses since the girls are under 30 pounds. We slid their box springs under their beds and just set the mattresses right on the slats. Problem solved! I had washed up all of their bedding the night before and I was so excited to get it in their room. It all came together so nicely, well except I wasn't able to put the bed skirts on because of not using the box springs. Boo!
I got all of the accessories at Hobby Lobby. The metal wall flowers, the picture frames, the lamp and the baskets. The white flower hooks that are currently holding their pink sun hats were hung to hold their three flower ribbons that hold their hair clips, but they mess with them too much right now for me to hang them.....hopefully in a few months I can put those on the wall but for now I like the hats there. I popped the letters out of their stools that my grandparents got my girls for their 1st birthday and painted them to match the night stand. They definitely need the stools to climb up on their beds!

That first day I was a little worried about them falling out of bed so I told them when they lay down Stella should sleep under the "e" and Mya the "y" from their name decals. It's so cute because when they lay down they both look up to the letters and position themselves in their safe spot. We pad the sides of them with pillows because we decided to forgo the side rails. I also stick their round neck rolls between their beds and the night stand so in the case that anyone falls out they won't hit a corner. I was nervous about it feeling too crowded and it is a little bit, but with it all put together now it looks okay to me. They love their new room and so do we!

Oh Case, this looks amazing! You did such a great job!
Simply gorgeous! You and your sis might consider a little interior decorating business. :) Mya and Stella are two lucky little ladies!
That looks straight out of Pottery Barn! I love it! Love the girls hugging in the mattress store. Love Wes pouring over the directions. Love their name decals and the wall colors. Love the newly painted letters in their stools. Love their cuteness in sleeping under their "safe" letters. Great job, Case!
My gosh, this is so cute!!
