2. Wes takes the girls to the Catholic church almost every Sunday. Stella came home one day telling me that she sings "ooh ya" AKA hallelujah. They also love to shake hands and say "peace be with you"! So sweet!
3. One early morning when we had the girls climb in bed with us we were laying there snuggling. Stella says "Daddy, I got boogers! You needa get 'em!"
4. After dinner one night I asked the girls if they were all finished so I could clean them up. Stella tells me that she was done and that she did eat all of her "bedgeables"!
5. We taught the girls to say bless you when someone sneezes. They never let us miss a sneeze now. If we do they say "Uhhhh Mommy I just sneeze!" I love that they don't need to be reminded and I often here it on the monitor...."Bless you, Sissy" "Thank you"!
6. Anytime they have food in a bowl they stir it and sing "Bate Bate Chocolate" from Dora. :)
7. Stella was on the big potty one day and I asked Mya to go to their room and get some diapers. She came back and handed me two diapers and said "Here ya go, Mommy. Here's a couple of diapers." Seriously????? She knows how to use the word couple correctly?
8. We have finger puppet books about Noah's Ark and Old McDonald and the girls love to tell the stories. Mya was marching around the house with the Old McDonald one and saying "Wis a moo moo moo" over and over and over. She left out the rest of the words though. LOL
9. Ok so I feel like I say that in the morning we bring the girls into our room often and that makes us sound lazy but darnit they get up early a lot and we are tired. Another early morning we brought their blocks in the room and let them build some towers. Mya got into the drawer in our bathroom and came back with the tweezers. Wes told her she needed to put them back and stay out of there and she says "Daddy, I needa get my hangnail!" She was looking for the nail clippers which are in the same compartment. :)
10. Now that their big beds are in their room Mya can reach the light and fan switches from her bed. I can hear on the monitor when she is messing with the switches and see the lights go on and off under the door so I went in to tell her to stop touching them. She always starts her statements with "Ohhhhh" like it is some big revelation although she has heard this before. She says "Ohhhh I can't chuch 'em? Only big people can chuch 'em? Only Mommy and Daddy?" I tell her yes, pull the cord so they won't turn off and on and walk out with a huge smile on my face. She cracks me up!
11. Every day when I am getting the girls dressed and I ask what they want to wear, Stella always without a doubt tells me she wants to wear a "pretty girl dress". Just like her momma! My mom tells me I always wanted to wear a "dresser" or a bikini if I had the choice as a child.
12. Since we are working on potty training we talk all the time about telling us when they need to go to the bathroom and remind them that only babies poop and pee in their diapers and big girls use the potty. The other night at dinner Mya got really stuck on this topic and decided to run through all of the places that we don't poop.......appetizing, I know! Here is what she came up with....."We don't poop on Daddy's fork!" "We don't poop in the mailbox!" "We don't poop on the table!" "We don't poop in Mommy's purse!" She thought this was hysterical and we all laughed and laughed. She would follow each one with "No, that's silly!"
13. Driving home from Celina last weekend Stella wanted to say something to Mya who was asleep. We told her to be quiet because Mya was sleeping. Very softly we hear Stella say "Mya, fweetie, wake up." That didn't work so she says "Mya, you the honeybunch, wake up." If I ever have to wake them up I try to do it very softly and say nice things to them. I guess they do hear it!
14. Any word that has a blend with a consonant followed by an l at the beginning, Mya always adds "ah" in it. Ex. blue = ba-lue It is so funny and she does it every time: ca-lean, ba-lanket, ba-locks, fa-lowers, sa-leep, ca-lothes, pa-lay, etc. My fav is when she puts two together, such as ba-lue ba-lanket.
15. We were at the zoo and when we were in the gorilla exhibit they were sitting against the glass so the girls got super close to them. I told Stella to say hello to the gorilla. She says "Hello, gorilla! I got boogers! You see 'em?" and sticks her nose up to him. We are very concerned with boogers these days. They don't pick their noses though so that's good, but they definitely are aware when they have one and don't like it.
16. If we are ever sitting or laying down and they want us to hold them we aren't generally "allowed" to stay sitting or laying. They tell us "I wanna hold you on the ground" which translates to get up!!!!!
