*This is so delayed.....I started this post last week and kept forgetting to finish it. My super-sweet hubby surprised me with a wonderful gift for my birthday. He arranged for the girls to be at my parent's house and he took me to dinner and then to see Wicked at the Stranahan theater. *Sidenote: This was also the location of our wedding reception and we haven't been back there since the big day almost 4 years ago, so it was nice to reminisce. I'm including a few pictures of our wedding and the reception at the Stranahan Great Hall because I haven't posted them at all yet and we didn't take any pictures of us last night. We got married July 1, 2006 and being the Saturday before the 4th we got free fireworks on our wedding night! Awesome!!!!! Also, the hall has a fountain in front of it that was lit up, which made for a perfect backdrop for pictures.

Ok, so I got a little off topic, but when I started posting my wedding pictures I just couldn't stop. It was absolutely perfect and I wouldn't change a single thing about our wedding. Anyways, back to the actual reason for this post. Wes told me sometime last week that he had a surprise for me and that I needed to be sure to have milk ready for the girls' last bottle on my birthday. I knew that my mom knew what was going on too because she was going to watch the girls. He knows my personality so he totally should not have told me anything. I spent the whole week trying to figure out what it was and that made him mad. Why couldn't I just have a nice surprise he wondered. Well, I just can't. So a few days before I was asking him to just tell
me what I should wear and what time it started and how long would we be gone. He said I could wear what I wear to work, we would get something to eat before it starts at 8:00 and that he thought it would be about 2-3 hours long. This was probably too many clues and since I had been hearing all the buzz about the awesome show I guessed that we were going to Wicked. I got online and saw that there was indeed a show starting at 8:00 on my birthday. Wes tried to tell me that I was wrong, but I just knew I was right and I was SUPER excited!
On the morning of my birthday I got out to my car and he had burnt the soundtrack to the show and put it in my CD player. When I ejected the CD I saw that he had written "I hope you have a "WICKED" birthday! When he came home from work he brought me a birthday cake from Eston's Gourmet Creations. They made our wedding cake and it is the most delicious cake you will ever try. He got the same kind we had ~ strawberries and cream! It is a layered mousse white cake. YUMMMMMMMMY!!!
We had planned to go to Olive Garden for dinner but we didn't leave early enough and so we decided something quick would be best. We tried a new place called Tropical Smoothie Cafe and it was awesome. I had a wrap and a smoothie and he had a sandwich and a smoothie. We will definitely visit that place again. After we ate we headed over to the show. I don't even think I can describe how amazing it was. I have never really been to a Broadway show before and their voices literally made me tear up. It made my arm hairs stand up! Awesome, awesome, awesome! Since the show I have been listening to the soundtrack all the time, but I think the live version is even better.
