Today my sweet little ladies turned 8 months old. When I re-read that sentence it blows my mind. Where did those 8 months go? I swear it was just the other day that we were taking all those trips to the fertility center. They are getting so big and their personalities are really coming out. I love every waking minute with them. I have a constant smile on my face when I am around them.
New this month...
They are army crawling like crazy and they do it really fast. They are in to everything. We have some baby proofing to do and they are quickly showing us what that is. They both get up on on all fours and rock back and forth, but have yet to actually crawl. They "talk" non-stop with what sounds like da, ma, ba, ga, and na. They also laugh a lot. When we stand over them and wiggle our fingers like we are going to tickle them they giggle harder at the anticipation than at the actual tickling. They are doing absolutely wonderful at the babysitters and have fallen into a nice routine. Since, we've gotten Stella's ear infection cleared up she is so happy. She has a constant smile on her face. They are eating very well. They have, however, become quite puky which stinks. They are pretty much never in the outfit we drop them off in due to poop, pee, puke or a combination. I think this is because they are so active. They are constantly moving and I don't think their food settles before they are off and crawling. They are all about each other lately. They want to touch and crawl all over each other. It is so cute, however, they don't quite complete control over their arms and so they end up hitting each other a lot. They really aren't fazed by that though.
To date they have eaten rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, acorn squash, butternut squash, chicken, turkey, green beans, carrots, pears, applesauce, yogurt, egg yolk, cottage cheese, banana, avocado, and blueberries. They are good eaters and really only dislike cottage cheese and egg yolk so far. It's funny to me that they both disliked the same things. They had blueberries one day and Lisa said they were spitting it up all day and so we are going to wait a bit and try again. Coming soon......lentils, wheat germ, cantelope, pasta, cheerios, mango, and tofu. Also, Mya is amazing with her sippy cup. We just sit it in front of her and she grabs both handles and drinks all by herself. She even sits it down to take a break and picks it back up when she is ready. Stella, however, coughs and spits out every sip that we tip into her mouth. Hmmmmm......what to do, what to do? Oh and now I almost always feed them together when I nurse them because they are pros at it and it takes less time. Also, Mya absolutely cannot take it if she hasn't eaten yet and she sees Stella eating. She can be completely content and playing but if she were to turn around see that, she becomes hysterical. So to alleviate that, they eat together. I just have hold their hands in the middle or they are poking each other in the eyes/face while they eat. I'm sure I've now painted a nice little picture in your head and you're welcome for that.
As far as stranger anxiety.....it is hitting Mya harder than Stella. Maybe it just seems that way because Mya was so easygoing before and now she really dislikes being passed to someone new. This is a hard phase to go through because I hate watching my babies look so sad and scared. I do know it is natural and it will pass.
I am looking forward to this next month with them. They are changing every day and they are so much fun. I did take some pictures today, however, they are not the best. As you just read in my post, the girls are VERY active. They don't want to sit still and so picture taking is getting very tricky.Oh and don't mind the spit up on their shirts. LOL
Just me and my sissy!
See what I mean about touching each other. I did say they don't mind this, but Mya was especially rough in this pic.
"But I love you, Stella!"
Mommy and me!
Having a little QT with Daddy.
