While we were getting things ready the girls found something super fun to play with. I've mentioned before how my girls love to play with water bottles. Well, apparently Sophie sees the fun in that too. They were all in the kitchen and they found the Mother Load! Our 35 pack of water bottles from Target sit on the floor next to the stove until they are put in the fridge. We pulled the pack into the middle of the room and they went nuts! The bottles are ridged and fun to touch, but they also make a squeaky sound when they are rubbed against another bottle.

The first thing we gave them was uncooked colorful spiral noodles. These were fun but hard to keep them from putting them in their mouth.
Next, we moved to cotton balls. A completely different feeling but still very interesting! Sophie even tasted one and her face was absolutely priceless! Stella wasn't much of a fan of touching things, but she did like the cotton balls.

Then came wet sponges. Just like each item before, it was way more fun to dump the bowl over first so there was water every where. Mya took each thing in her hand and studied them. She was VERY interested today. After checking it out for awhile she figured out how to scrub the floor with the sponge. I have to say that this was very exciting for me. She may just take over one of the jobs I hate the most! LOL

After that came cooked and cooled peas. My girls have eaten pureed peas, but never whole ones so I was planning to watch them like a hawk. Surprisingly, they did not try to eat one. Normally everything goes in their mouth. Sophie was hilarious. She ate probably 50 peas. Ashley said she looked like the kid at fat camp trying to eat chocolate bars. She was shoving handfuls in her mouth like she's never been fed. Sophie has eaten whole and chunked foods before so she was ready for this. Stella only wanted to touch one pea at a time. She was very dainty.

Finally, we gave them cooked and cooled fettuccine noodles that had been rinsed so they were slippery. This was the most fun! Stella tried it and decided it was not for her pretty quickly. She crawled over to me and watched. Nana stopped over to join in the fun and so she held Stella while I snapped about a hundred pics of Mya and Sophie. Mya absolutely LOVED this. She got her hands in the bowl and was flinging pasta everywhere! She had it all up her arms and on her head. Sophie liked it too, but was more concerned with crawling around the floor eating peas. LOL No worries though, I had just mopped the floors before this started so it was okay that she was eating off the floor.

After we finished we plopped the sticky, starchy girls in their high chairs and fed them lunch. Lunch was followed by a bath and then straight to bed for a nap. Clean up took no time at all. We just tossed the used items and I gave the floor a quick scrub. I never would have thought of this because the mess would have normally freaked me out, but it was soooooo much fun! I think this may have been Mya's favorite day of her life so far! What a great idea, Aunt Ashley!!!!
