Fast forward to midnight. Mya was SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!!! I went to get her and found her burning up. I tried to nurse her to calm her down.....that worked for about 1 minute. We gave her Motrin and tried laying her in bed with us. She continued to scream. I rocked her sitting up and she fell asleep after a long while. Any time I tried laying her down the screaming started again. I have now become a professional ear infection diagnoser so I knew that was the problem. The Motrin didn't help bring her fever down. I didn't take her temp but I could feel the heat just radiating off of her. She was miserable. I took her sleep sack off of her, unbuttoned her jammies and got a wet wash cloth to rub on her head, neck, chest and back. She hated it! At 2:00 Stella decided to join the party. The doctor had said that we could give her Tylenol throughout the day if she needed it. As you saw in the pictures she was happy as a clam and so we didn't give her any. That was probably a mistake because then during the night she was in pain and not happy. We brought her down to bed and gave her some Tylenol. Throughout the night the girls took turns being awake and crying and crawling all over each other so Wes took Stella out to the living room to sleep with him on the love seat. At 4:00 I gave Mya some Tylenol and continued to rock her. She finally fell asleep around 5:00. Her poor little cheeks were bright red with fever rash. It was a LONG night and needless to say Wes and I were exhausted in the morning. He brought Stella back into our room to sleep while we got ready because, of course, at this point the girls were ready to sleep. He laid her down on the bed and this is how they both naturally positioned themselves. You can see how red poor little Mya's cheeks are.
We eventually had to wake them up. We took Mya's temperature as we were dressing her and it was 100.7 but it had definitely gone down. We gave her another dose of Motrin and decided that we would send her to Lisa's for the morning and Wes would take a half day in the afternoon to take her to the doctor. Stella was acting completely normal and didn't have a temperature at all. Lisa sent me a picture message at school of Mya sleeping in her high chair at 11:12 and said that that was the first time she slept all day. She also said as soon as she put her phone down she woke up again. I felt horrible for her. Wes made an appointment for her at 1:20. We saw a different doctor and he said that she definitely had a bad infection in her left ear and that she had so much wax on her right side that her ear drum was perforated. I clean their ears all the time but this was at a place where it can't be reached. He prescribed Amoxicillan for the infection and drops for her right side. We have to take her back in 2 weeks to have her re-checked. This was her 3rd infection in about a month. The doctor said that if she has 5 within a 6 month period they normally suggest tubes. After going through it with Stella I realize that they are very helpful and I just wish we could go ahead and schedule the surgery for Mya so she doesn't have to go through the pain a few more times.
After writing this post, it seems like I am complaining. I was complaining on Thursday because I was exhausted. I didn't get much sleep and I had a program at school Thursday night. We have Wes' family visiting on Friday and Sunday and I needed to clean but I just wanted to sleep. No offense to our visitors but I so badly just wanted a relaxing weekend at home. However, at times like these I think back to the hard days of wondering if I ever would be a Mommy and also of everyone who would love to be in my position and it reminds just how lucky I am to be dealing with this. So what if I'm tired.....I can sleep another time! For now I will just enjoy EVERY part of being a Mommy to my sweet little miracles!

You're so awesome, Casey...love the last few sentences.
Oh Casey, don't worry, anyone who reads your blog or knows you can tell that you are a very appreciative mommy of your beautiful girls! They're so lucky to have you, too! I often wonder how you mommies of multiples do it all! Lyla is a handful all on her own! Haha
