Dr. Carmen told us they need to work on eating chunkier foods and also to work on their pincher grasp (thumb and pointer finger to pick things up). Mya wants absolutely nothing to do with anything that isn't pureed. She spits it right back out. She was not a fan of tangy things either (i.e. pineapple and kiwi). Stella on the other hand LOVES these things. She really likes the sweet potato puffs and it is the cutest thing ever to watch her put them in her mouth. She generally begins correctly but the puff moves in her hand and because her hands are wet/sticky from eating the puff sticks to her hand and she just basically licks her whole hand getting 2 or 3 puffs in at a time. They get stuck on her lips sometimes and she ends up looking like a frog eating flies. LOL She really enjoys it though! We have tried to make their meals chunkier and also allowed them to feed themselves banana, sweet potato puffs, pineapple, and kiwi. We are going to try Cheerios, mango pieces, blueberries, steamed peas, carrots and broccoli next. Milo also enjoys this new task because he ends up with a few extra treats as they sometimes drop food to the floor.
